That looks like fun. I have never been to mosport for an event. Are there things to see and do there either than the race? It looks like you got to walk through the pits and snap some cool pics

Man, fantastic shots!! Was a ton of fun running around with the Rennlist crew on Saturday. Too bad some of you weren't able to make it Sunday, the main race was fantastic with the Flying Lizard Porsche taking the win in GT... barely with the Ferrari and Vette right on it's tail for the last 15 minutes of the race! The Ferrari actually passed the Vette in 5b on the last lap, made for an exciting finish.
There is plenty to grab your attention other than the race. You are right, the pits are open for the crowd to walk and we spent some time checking out the tech inspection area as well. On raceday (Sunday) before the main race all of the cars and their teams line up on the grid and they open the front straight up to the fans for a "grid walk". It gives you the chance to look at all the cars close up, talk to the team/drivers, and take pictures with the flag girls
The Porscheplatz tent was fantastic and well worth the small premium over the standard tickets. Lunch sat + sun, breakfast, Porsche parking, tent to hide in from rain/sun, great view from the hilltop above the straight, and participation in the Porsche parade laps (which were unfortunately early Sunday, but definitely worth getting up early for ). Lawrence at Porsche Canada was also kind enough to hook a few lucky people up with a passenger lap in the Panamera Turbo pace car!
Great event, and the track improvements are coming along very nicely. Can't wait for next year!

No kidding...they are really struggling. I got a message from Joerg and he said the worst part about failing the stall test and losing the win is that their data shows that the restrictors were working correctly and there was no performance advantage.

Watched the last 1/2 hour online. Pretty cool! The Vette driver must be super pissed about the last lap Ferrari pass, especially now with the revoked Porsche win.
Post pics please!!!
How were the parade laps? Could you open up the throttle a bit? Where you a pace car passenger? Comments?
Boo!

I was lucky enough to get a lap in the pace car. It was fantastic, that Panamera Turbo is FAST and they were going a lot faster than we did on our parade laps! It was in-between sessions so we weren't actually pacing any racers, but it was fun nonetheless.

yeah the DQ hit the news yesterday allmost immediately after the race. i didnt want to post a spoiler as i wasnt sure if some were recording it. They failed the stall test . Rules say you can only injest a certain amount of air determined by the intake and restrictor plates if needed. ( that is what they did to the 917 to restrict it and killed it ) Anywhoo... if you block of the intake completely the car must stall. if it doesnt it means it is getting additional air on top of the air intake .. the Porsche didnt stall.... DSQ
apparently they are apealing .. cant imagine this defacto factory team would cheat but someone must have missed something as this is a standard test after every race.
