If you're okay with purchasing "OEM" versus "Porsche Genuine" for things like rotors (eg. Zimmerman), coils (eg. Beru), filters (eg. Mahle), etc. try www.autopartsway.com. They have Canadian warehouses with free delivery for orders over $75. When you take into account no duties, brokerage fees and free shipping they are quite cost competitive on most maintenance type items.
Do you guys know offhand what brokerage fees are like when shipping with Suncoast?
I just got a quote from them, and UPS expedited was triple the cost of standard. Expedited doesn't charge brokerage as extra AFAIK.
I to have tryed to order stuff from them but the shipping was ridiculous for an order of 500 the shipping was 250 the only way is to have a fowarding address in the states .
I beleive Zimerman makes rotors for Porsche and Textar makes the pads .
Always ship USPS/Canada Post. Brokerage Is very reasonable (couple dollars). If you're in a hurry, fedex's brokerage is decent. It's really only UPS you have to avoid.
Ultimate Posterior Shafting ( UPS ) is really just organized crime .. stay away rom them no matter what .. if they dont ship USPS dont deal with them .. or just pick it up at the border and bring it over yourself if you live close enough or go to the border areas for other business.

I've never been charged brokerage with USPS/CP. If it's under $250 or so they don't even bother collecting the HST. There is no duty on car parts.
So i emailed suncoast im doing the rear brakes so came out to 520 for the parts they told me 65 shipping wich is reasonable but they ship UPS which i know im going to get dinged with brokrage fee .

Definitely agreed.

Not always, I've been dinged for a $65 part just before Christmas a few years back, I suspect to a certain degree it depends on the mood of the Cdn Post person's that day who processes your pkg.

Louie,
You can do your own brokerage with either UPS or FEDEX ... when i have no other option but to use UPS i do my own brokerage and only end up paying for the taxes not their outrageous brokerage fees.
What you do is call them as soon as you have a UPS tracking number from your vendor and mention you are doing your own brokerage and to advise them to have the item delivered to their local terminal.
Once they recieve your item they call you and then you go pick up your customs papers at their terminal and go pay your taxes at the customs office and have the papers stamped, then you return to UPS with your papers and claim your package.
I've done this when i ordered a 400 lb blasting cabinet from the US as well as when i ordered my rollbar ... actually i do this on all UPS orders ...
It just takes a little more time out of your day but it's money in your pocket, not theirs !
