Saw it last night...It's cool (amazing cinematography, colour, sound, etc.) but,
man is it ever slow....

The trailer alluded to there being far more footage of driving the Outlaw 911s
around these 10 to 100mile routes he talks about, and the shear enjoyment of
it...But it turns out, the flick was more about Magnus and less about his raw
obsession....

Looking forward to checking it out.... thanks for the heads up Jakob, knowing that going into it will relieve any dissapointment!

EDIT:

Just finished watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree with Jakob that it could have used some more driving footage, but I think he has a fascinating story to tell and he did a good job of telling it. It gave the film more depth to know about his background and how his dream and style has developed. I particularly liked the story of how he started out selling used/re-fab'd clothing on the boardwalk - I have a lot of respect for a self-made man. I also really liked how you get the impression he's speaking from the heart, when he's sitting there sewing or torquing the wheels and talking you get the impression that he's talking to you directly, not just reading a script for a movie. It felt real that way. Some more focus on each of the cars would have been cool, I was kind of looking forward to seeing each one and what he's done to them.

I also felt just a little bit "special" when he mentioned "the online boards" and PP threads - that's us!

At the end, I was sad to see it was over!

Ya, I agree, the film was kind of a let down. I'd been looking forward to after viewing the trailer. Great collection though.

THIS!! This is what I meant by my earlier comments. The movie is done really
well, no question about it! But it's not a film about an enthusiast, it's a
commercial for his film studio rental, vintage-but-not clothing and Porsche
restoration business.

It's too bad, because with more of a "day-in-the-life-of-enthusiast" spin,
nobody would've ever noticed that it was indeed a commercial!!

Bah, what do I know?! hahah
