A sad day has come :( - off topic
Well I am somewhat known for pranking this is true but sadly this is not one of them.
A lot of you local guys will remember my little red Audi that i resurected some years ago and used as my " winter beater" Well it actually was such a great car it became my wifes summer car .. well mostly because a winter beater with no heat at idle really doesnt work that well.
I had hoped to eek a couple of years out of this car when i bought it but never would have imagined I got 8 years out of it. The time has come however it must move on . At about 350,000 km there is just no more room in the garage . Although still a good car I am into the law of diminishing returns now in both money and time. I would have loved to have kept this car for my son but he is still a couple of years away and the problems are becoming not worth fixing.
The heat has always been an issue and now I hear what sounds like a wheel bearing or CV joint. All pretty cheap to fix but now my Company Maxima is up for renewal and I would be foolish not to buy it.
I had visions of thrashing it at the track and leaving it there or some other dramatic ending but alas off to kijiji she will go when the time comes.
So here is a hats off to my awesome little red Porsche Support vehicle that only ever let me down once ... i ran out of gas and rolled into the gas station where i found my 911 .. fate some may say..

The car is designed as a front drive and the differential is mated to the block. But it might be possible if a person had a lot of time on their hands. The most interesting swap I've seen was a 1948 Citroen, front drive of course, that had a Cadillac V8. It was used in the application in my previous thread as an insane auto crosser. That was in Holland in the 60's. Roostertails of mud 10 metres in the air coming from the front tires.
