Freight Forwarder from US to CAN?
I did an incredibly thorough job cleaning the oven yesterday. So thorough that I couldnt leave clean enough alone and I pulled out the control panel and guts to clean that too.
I creased the keytail ribbon putting the whole thing back together and now I need a new control panel for it.
Cost of the panel in Canada is $360.
Cost in the US: $150.
I refuse to TIUTA, but the US suppliers wont ship to Canada - Sears Canada has the sole rights it seems, and Sears Can says $360 please.
Whats the best way to get around this? Anyone use a freight forwarder?

That sounds like the Honeywell ignitor unit I needed for my furnace.
Locally, $403 plus installation and they (any heating & air conditioning dealer) would not sell it to me. Asked if I had a gas licence...like I was working with gas lines. Middle finger extended to them.
Got it in the US for $129 shipped. The difference must have been the exchange rate...just got to be...couldn't possibly be anything else like...greed.
Fixed the old one for $5...needed one relay, but replaced both.

BioBanker, is this an "i need it yesterday" kind of part? I'm going to the US at some point to pick up a trailer so could probably grab this for you.

if you dont mind driving to lewiston (niagara falls), i'd suggest setting up a post office box with these guys, and have it shipped there:
http://www.theupsstorelocal.com/6143/
i've used them a few times. it's 10 minutes from the lewiston bridge.

while you're there pick up or have shipped anything else you need. Suncoast typically ships UPS so if you need anything for the car now is the time to get it. Makes the trip worthwhile. Might as well also hit the outlet malls while you're there

Thanks to you all; appreciate all of those suggestions.
I have come across Gamesforcanada.com. It will, apparently, receive a shipment and then ship it to you.
Anyone heard of them?
Fallback is to have it shipped to a spot close to the bridge, but as much as I love ripping it up in the Pcar, if I can avoid traveling to get the pkg I would prefer that.

CBIUSA charges $7 per package but they will hold it for free for 3 months, so you can order a whole bunch of things without having to coordinating order/ship/delivery dates, or worry about weather/road conditions, just go when all the stars line up for you.

Thanks guys - I was able to find it through a CDN source that was more expensive than the US route but close enough that a drive to Niagra wouldnt be worth it.
I did find that GamesForCanada.com in CT would receive the package at their US address and then ship it to me. If anyone is looking for that service, look them up.
