Ottawa area: looking for sugestions for repainting wheels
All of my wheels are faded and I would like to get them repainted and maybe have the aluminum polished.
Any sugestions of a shop that can do this around the Ottawa area? Any idea what the cost would be?
Thanks

Will they paint? I used them for my audi wheels that were curb rashed from the previous owner and the put a coating over them (which chips easy)

If you're open to powder coating, there is a group-buy happening with a company
in Whitby. There are 11 people with deposits already (I'm one of them; otherwise
no affil.), 4 more people and there is another price break. Here is the thread (post 24):

If you are looking at getting powder coating done take them to Ottawa Powder Coating also on Iber road. I had my wheels done by a company in Brockville on the recommendation of a buddy of mine. They were brutal to deal with - never met any deadline they set, had to re-do the wheels - all around brutal. I took my calipers and other assorted parts to OPC and they did an awesome job, on time and for a great price. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer. http://www.ottawapowdercoating.com/

Powder coating uses an electrostatic process to apply dry paint powder to the metal rims, then the part is baked in an oven with elevated temperatures until the paint powder melts and then cure on the metal surface, there is a risk on forged rims where localized hot spot in the oven may adversely change the strength of forged metal.
As well powder coating seem to be typically thicker so you would have to tape off the center hole to avoid too much built-up in undesireable areas.

The wheels are not to bad just fading in the black area and I would like to polish up the edges.
I was thinking of DIY but don't really have the space to do it at home

Called alloy wheel repair, they said they can just paint the centers and polish the lip. $150 a wheel.
After spending around 10hrs cleaning off the old rock chip stickers and installing new ones i am looking foward to seeing the car with brand new looking wheels!
