Hi all, from the London area

Not a Porsche owner yet, but looking to get into a 997 soon. Figured this would be a good place for a bit of research and advice.

Bit of background, I'm a Saab guy. In fact I've only ever owned saabs. A 911 looked like the natural progression for me

My current 9-5 Aero, some modifications

Current 9-5 and my first 9-3

Time to pour yourself a glass of wine and say GOODBYE to the Saabs!

I have always liked Saabs. I can still remember my first ride in one in the mid 80's, a 900 with full aero package on the twisty roads of northern Italy. It was a blast but then once I tried a Porsche there was no turning back. Best of luck in your search.

Yup, the way it's supposed to be
I see alot of similarites in the brands, in how they were developed that is, driver focused design, both pioneers in forced induction, race heritage (maybe not so known, but SAAB were rally champs back in the 50s-70s)
I have a few ideas, if I can manage a C4 then I'll probably sell the Saab and DD all year.

A 993 would be cool. A 997 could probably be bought well in the next 6 months with lease returns and upgrades to 991s by the owners. 996's are a real bargain for what you get for the money.

Have you gone over to RSP Motorsports in Komoka? They have contacts with Porsche NA and can see what's coming back (lease return wise) and have found cars for a couple of my friends.

Haven't been to RSP, but I was in contact with them about having the 9-5 Dyno'd after tuning, never got around to it.. The more I look at 993's the more I want one, the only thing holding me back is if like to DD the car, and I'm not sure I could justify doing that to a 993
