BTW, Cheap Thrills often have, uh, cheap tires, but check their DOT date codes on the sidewall, I've seen them sell 10 year old "brand new" tires!!
you want to make sure they have silicon coated tire tools...Simply Tire and Sportscar boutique both do in GTA.

Sitting here at tires 23, I'm
More nervous then when my first child was born. Everything looks good in the shop and not busy so they won't be rushing. Stay tuned!

Glad it work out. Were you able to watch them putting the tires on? If so what did you think?

I saw them do the last one, everything looked fine, no issues. But then again they were not busy, and they new I would not accept a single mark. Once done I asked for a rag to clean the lips and check for marks.

Tires 23 are at the north west corner of Dixie Road and Matheson in Mississauga, they are in a commercial strip plaza a little bit in from Matheson.

Adamant, if you end up with balancing issues then I can highly recommend Young's Tires in Brampton, Clark and Hwy 410, they have Hunters tire mounting machine and Road Force balancing machine, Rinvinder there is a magician in the art of road force balancing, he's done the balancing for a couple of sets of tires for me over the last few years that other shops could not balance well, the other fellow there Phil (?) has picked up a lot of Rivinder's skills as well.

Good to know, I watched them balance with no issues, but ya never know. Probably won't get the car out on these wheels until the spring.

Yep, you won't know if you really have a balancing issue until you get the car on the road.

As one tire shop had told me: "You can balance a square tire, but you sure as hell won't want to drive on them!", this is where the Hunter Road Force machine really comes in handy, and a good technician who knows HOW to use the machine is also invaluable.

Default Wheel ****

All set for spring now, just have to finish the centre caps. I put the wheels in my basement, anyone want to take bets on how long it takes my wife to notice them and ask "when did you get those".

Do the color bands have any significance?

Hi, the wheels look great. I was wondering how Carcone checked your rims for straightness?? I called Carcone today, and the guy there says they just eyeball them and don't use a dial indicator...? I offered to bring mine, but he had no interest. When they showed you the straightness.... how did they do it? Thx. Peter
