I used these guys just once to straighten out a very slightly bent rim, it was only 0.030" out of round and they let me see the before and after dial-indicator reading and I watched the work being done.

No complaints on the straightening work although I didn't need the refinishing work so cannot comment on that aspect, they do have a abrasive blaster and small paint "shop" from what I recall.

I also stopped by Michaelangelo's Auto Salon today to check out their painting service, there was a set of 996 wheels just like mine in the avatar that had just been refinished, they look great, Mike said he uses a harder clear coat for the rim refinish. I'll likely have the curb-rash on my wheels taken care of by them if I chose to have them paint the front end of my car.

Good to know. They did excellent work on my wheel, but maybe I just got lucky.

Since Carcone's seems to be highly rated by everyone I'm going to take them there.

Thanks for everyones input.

Well this might be for you Jakob! Folks over on VWVortex Canada are having a Group Buy for "Wheel Refinish". Its being Organized by "Brightside Customs" themselfs. I have not personally used them, but i have seen their work at a few Local VW/Audi Shows here in the GTA. Work looks good and people on Vortex seem to like them and their services. Maybe you can get on this GB and save a few $$$ http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...HTSIDE-CUSTOMS read Post# 24

I think they are in the east end or further (WHITBY) I may be wrong on that

if they are, the money spent on driving back and forth and then again to pick them up when finished, could be more than getting someone in town!

That's if your in TORONTO. Just a thought

The local guy here in Kitchener wants $130/wheel. He does good work but wholly crap! If the VW guys get enough people it will be $280 for a set of 4.
