Default Recommendation for Snow tires?

Hey Guys,

Looking to get a set of snows for my stock 19's on my C2S. Any recommendations on where to get a good deal?

Pfaff has winter tire packages - but I am sure they are on the expensive side - any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hey Zook,

I went by and saw Al at simply tire and got my winter rubber on. Great guy. Almost as great as you.

Thanks

Have a look at Nokian tires. I use them and they stick like glue. Rated number 1 in this years Consumer Reports.

I just put the Michelin Pilot Alpin (N-rated) on mine. No complain so far: they are quiet, grip is very good in the cold and they do not feel mushy as long as you drive within the speed limits . I cannot wait for some snow to see how they behave in the white stuff Got a very good deal at Kipling Tire (they had the tires within 2 days whereas other recommended shops on this forum could not get them until mid-December).

bigboi - the dealer packages and many aftermarket setups use tires that are too wide for real snow. My 09 4S had the dealer Nokians on 18 inch wheels. They were 235 F 305 R - way too wide. Traction in real snow (this is Montreal winter after all) was poor. If you will run into real snow buy 18 inch wheels and skinny tires.

I put on Falken Eurowinters on my 996 c2 a couple of winters ago. Love 'em. Lots of grip that gives tonnes of control. Sized down from 18" summers to 17" for the winter.
