Another short/long range suggestion would be to buy the RS4, keep it a couple of years and then swap it for.... the new R5 Cabrio when it comes out in 2014... oh yeah!

No concerns with RS4 carbon build-up issues? The 'Net is riddled with accounts but I don't really know enough for this to be a concern or not?

I saw an RS4 today (I have an A4) and was totally impressed. They strike me as way more rare and special than a 996 - but then again - I'm no fan of the 996 styling.

I am about to ditch the A4 for "something" and would love an RS4 - seem to be amazing cars. Go for it!
