Is this the lift I've been waiting for?
Guys,
Have you seen this? The Lift Superstore in Oakville has them. US price is $1,899.

You can easily get the car in the air and pop it onto jackstands. portable and easy to store too. Might be a viable alternative for some. I've seen a video where it can be used to hold an engine as well.

Never mind. Spoke to the folks at Lift Superstore. Needs a really solid concrete floor and doesn't seem well suited for residential use.

I find that a bit extreme, for some reason. Maybe it's the part where they lift the rear of a 1-series from one side. I guess it just plays against my mechanical sympathies. I'm sure it would be really convenient for handling a fleet of cars with minimal garage space, though.

interesting.... what are those little wheels made of that it rolls on?
I have the room, I'm happy with my maxjax. Just did front and rear brakes on my Jetta Had the car up and down a couple times a day.
I've got the posts set far enough that I can get out of the Jetta or Boxster driver side on a daily basis without any issues.
