Need some help here guys. I have a 1987 944 turbo aka 951. Anyways its having some problems where it will stall out or crank and not start. I've gone through a whole bunch of tests and I've concluded it needs a new DME. So if there's anyone out here who has a spare DME or is even able lend me one so I can use it as a test unit please let me know. I just need to confirm its a bad DME before I go and buy one. Are you sure it's not the speed or reference sensors? That's a much more common problem than a dead DME. Either way, I'll check and see if I have my old DME here with me. Where are you located?

If it's intermittent like that it may not be the DME. Check the ref/speed sensor connectors at the back of the engine. I had a problem like that and it was a bad connection. Actually it was my own fault as I'd forced the connectors together and misaligned the pins.

Well if I tap the DME the thing will start or stall out. I will double check the speed and reference sensors, but i still think its the DME. As for location I'm in toronto.

I do have 2 DME's and a KLR. I'm north on the 400 near Newmarket. I'll be coming downtown next Saturday. You interested?
