I counted 3 near misses. The tire wall, the Audi A3 and the last blue car (Renault or Pug perhaps?) Lucky duck.

WOW...talk about a busy day. That blue car at the end had pretty good reactions to weave around him.

Ronan, what do you think happened?

Possible that the car got a bit light while having a side load and driver lifted?

Someone decided to put the engine behind the axle would be my guess.

Its hard to tell - the camber catches people out there all the time and you need constant throttle coming through. I wonder if he lifted. Here is a quote from Pistonheads that I agree with:

"Who knows? The corner does go on longer than you think, therefore people apex early then get on the power too early, then lift off & turn back in........in a 911 you know the rest.

Still, it has a nice open exit & they've even very kindly block paved the outside of the curb at the exit point so if you do run wide you can keep your foot in-gives the passengers a bit of a scare though

As always at the ring, if you find yourself coming towards a corner with plenty of people stood around with video cameras, well, there's usually a good reason for them standing there, & it isn't to dish out admiration to those plucky foreigners who come over in their fancy cars & think they can tame the worlds hardest track "

Is it true that if you go off into a wall on the 'Ring that you have to pay for all damages to the track?

Yes it is true. Some people have insurance but its pretty limited. Its not a cheap experience but they overlook minor stuff. If you take out the armco you pay. Furthermore there are significant deductibles if you rent a Ring car..often min of $8000 or so and a lot more for a Porsche.
