Got my car back with clutch hydraulic hose/connector issue resolved. Next day, go to start car, and it idles rough, sounds like not all cylinders firing. Check engine light starts flashing. Stopped car, started again, same thing.
I know I need to get the codes read, but don't want to drive car like this, and figure they will show cylinder misfire, still will need to find problem..any ideas before I take some action? I had MAF and AOS replaced 2 years ago, so I would hope neither of those are the issue.
Mike,
what's the mileage and when did you last have your plugs and coils replaced? A couple of cracked coils would certainly cause this type of rough idle. I have a code reader and if you want to swing by we can plug it in and see.
Update: spoke to mechanic, he said try it again and see if it runs ok, if so drive to him. I started it, ran fine like usual. Odd. So drove to him, they looked at coils, all good. No codes reported.
So, this may have been a fluke, I did notice the white smoke syndrome when I started it, maybe I just haven't driven it enough, need to go on a good run and burn some deposits off. Is fuel injector cleaner a good idea, and can any be used?
Mechanic also bled my clutch again as it needed that. I hear they can take a few goes to get pressurized properly. I prob will do the clutch later this year.
