Hey Dan .... What is your latest set of wheels? Are you planning to keep the TT?

Christien: This is a very nice looking set of wheels. Can I ask what the price range is typically for an exceptionally clean example 86-88?

Based on Auto Trader asking prices in Ontario, prices range from 19 to 32, with most in the upper 20s. Seems to be similar across Canada. This one will likely be priced at 23 or 24.

Glenn,
I bought a low miles 951 with half cage, cup car suspension, big red brakes gt3 seats etc...
this car does not affect my 993tt except that this is the one I am planning on taking to track.
it will replace my other 951 which will go on the market shortly.

Danny - Sounds like an affordable and relatively inexpensive way to keep having some fun at the track.

Christien - Thanks for the info - very fair pricing for what I understand is a one of the lesser expensive user friendly models to maintain. Happy motoring!

Actually, the 964 is generally cheaper, and still fairly DIY-friendly. I happened to get a good price on this one - usually they sell in the US for around 20-21.

For some reason I didn`t realize the car has to undergo a clean air test (being an 86).
Chris: does yours have a cat

Good question - I forgot to ask the mechanic who did the PPI if it does. If it does, we'll make short work of that

86 won't need an e-test - only 88 and newer. The horse's mouth:

thanks Chris; however at the license office they said the computer won`t process it (being an import) without the etest. the link you provided did not mention importing. I hope that I don`t have to put a cat on for one test. please tell me otherwise and this also applies to your car.

Do you mean for initial registration? Doesn't make sense to me, but ask me in a few days . When I brought my 944 in back in 2006 or so I had no issues at all.

Chris, do you prefer an 86 with a 915 vs an 87 with a G50?

Good luck. Send me a pm after you transfer. Hopefully it was just the office I was at that is asking for this. Good luck and drive safe.
