Thinking of switching to this for the summer in Lucy but it appears to be awfully hard to find a supply. 0w40 and even 15w50 is easily findable but not 5w50.

That's pretty light isn't it Sean? I'm moving to M1 V Twin 20W-50 based on the 993tt forum chat...

Lucy is a DD. I don't want something that is so thick that I have to worry in early April or late November about cooler temps. I'll likely go back to 0w40 for the winter and that is what is in her now. I run 15w50 in Sally but she only gets driven when it is warmer.

Receiver,

I'm not sure what Canadian Tire is like in Ontario but here in the East coast they usually have large supplies of Mobil 1 and are often on sale from 15-35% off.

According to the viscosity/temp tables, 15w50 is good down to -17C and the 993tt's don't have the variable cam stuff that needs the light oil. Anyway, I'm sure you've read all of Charles oil tech sheets. See you at GTG in a few weeks?

Yeah to GTG but likely in Lucy. Need new shoes for Sally and I have to fix a bent wheel if I can't find a new one. Just bought my Rennsport IV tickets for Laguna Seca in October. Anyone going?

I've seen the 5W50 in WalMart stores before in Toronto. Go onto Mobil's web site, and send them an email. They will tell you who to call in your area that sells the 5W50. May even be a dist. and they will sell to the public, at a slight discount over retail.

You can also try calling this place in the Chicago area, and maybe they will ship to you, or know of a Mobil dist. in your area.

IIRC, Kevin highly recommends the 5W50 in the 996TT.
