Default Where to buy Pagid brake pads in Canada ???

Hey guys,

I'm more than likely going to install some Pagid Yellow and Pagid Black brake pads on my 89 Carrera with 996TT brakes this Summer because i finally joined the Rennsport clan and will be doing some DE's .So far the best price i found was on Pelican but i would prefer to buy Canadian if i can get a better deal ...

Anybody have some recommendations as to where to start looking ???
Thank you !

Cheers !
Phil

So Phil, you would rather buy in Canada if you got a better deal, but the question is, would you rather buy in Canada if you had to pay a bit more? I would.

Pulling your chain a bit, but yes, Sportscarboutique.com

+4 SportsCar Boutique is the distributor....cheapest price.
Although some tuning shops do stock but you'd ultimately save yourself about 10-20 points off the top purchasing direct from the distributor.

At the risk of sounding facetious, the distributor is bound to maintaining an MSRP and it wouldn't make sense to potentially be undercutting the shops that buy from him (like me).

You can probably get the best deal from the shop that would be installing the pads, otherwise, if you have a shop you deal with a lot, they can buy from Ilker (SportsCar Boutique) and probably give you a bit of a break.

Where you'll run into issues is when the shop has already purchased their stock from the US without the knowledge of a Canadian distributor. This said, SCB started importing directly from Germany and their prices are at MSRP in Canadian $$. It's about 20-30% cheaper than anyone who's bought stock from the US because they aren't buying directly from Pagid.

Atr: are you saying SCB is cheaper than buying in US and paying no duty or tax by using personal declaration? I hope this is true but I find it very hard to believe.

You can get them at Perry Auto, http://www.perryautolaval.com/homeeng.php in Laval. Ask for Carl, he takes care of the performance parts section. If your a member of ASE (they repaved St. Eustace, can't wait for the snow to clear) you get a 10% discount I think, or something like that.

Pagid Canadian MSRP U2405 19 (yellow) $369 CAD

Pagid US MSRP (from www.rennstore.com) $320 USD

I'm sure markups are about the same so you could probably get similar discounts from either source. Theoretically, you can't compare no tax or duty because this isn't an option for 99% of canadians who shop south of the border so lets ASSUME you pay the 6.1% duty on the US purchase. That puts you at about $340... now add on shipping (most companies charge shipping) and you're pretty darn near close to the Canadian MSRP. If it makes a difference to you, PM me and I can probably get you a better deal.

I'm so tired of getting screwed over on prices in Canada, I source everything out of the US. If you're interested in the best prices period, contact Roger at 928sRus. I'm good with the shipping time for the savings to be had. Roger's got customers for Porche parts who actually live in Germany....go figure.
