OT: amazing dent repair on wife's FX35 by DentXpress
As some of you already know, my wife had a little mishap with a fence a week ago.
I've used T @ DentXpress 416 220-1921(no affiliation, just a fan) before for small door dings on the C4S and I was impressed with his work. I emailed him the photos of the damage on the FX and he wasn't sure he could repair it to my satisfaction and suggested that I get a quote from a body shop.
Well, the body shop said that on an "insurance job" he'd charge at least $2500 but if I paid cash he'd "help me out" for $1000! However, I wouldn't be his priority since he wasn't going to be making any money on it (?) and it would take 3-4 days (rental car would have to be added to the tab). When I questioned why so much, he said that he'd have to repaint the whole panel right into the roof, the rear door (to blend) and maybe even the front door too...geez almost half the car!! FYI: the paint is not damaged, only surface scratches and scuffs on the clearcoat.
I called T back and said I was willing to let him try to do what he could to minimize the dent as much as possible...really wanted to avoid painting so much of the vehicle. He agreed and we set up an appointment for this morning.
The final result is that it's freaking perfect!! The after photos are while he was still buffing it so there is compound all over the place and I forgot to get a shot of it completely finished. No drilling or panels removed, all was done by pulling and massaging the panel; really amazing! Total cost: $220
Oh, yeah and while I was there he took out a small dent on the C4S for another $40 in about 20 mins.
Moral of the story, ALWAYS go the paintless dent removal route first and see if it will solve the problem and save you $$$.
Way to go T!

Phil does T have a Website or Email address? Me and iceman were thinking of setting up a "Rennlist Group Dent Day" with him on a Weekend, maybe we can all drive over to his place after a Sat GTG... Let me know
