Do any of you ever go on the OT forum, and if they--almost exclusively Americans-- tune into the fact you are Canadian, you get insulted for that reason alone? That is, if they can't argue with you, they simply Canadian bash?

Not usually if you're just in OT, but if you go into P&C and talk about healthcare, gun control or anything perceived as Liberal, you'll likely get your *** fed to you.
That being said there are a few Canadians that frequent that area of the forum.
They don't Canadian bash, but they'll attack subversively as they do with racial comments.

OT has some great topics for discussion. P&C also and is good sport. I've discovered the American's fallback position is that they look after our defence hence we don't have a voice. When challenged they can't answer who they are defending us against though. As for anything to do with guns thats a very delicate situation as several folk are passionate about them and see discussion relating to control as a personal attack on their rights and that provokes anger. I don't have a problem discussing things although I expect by now there's a certain amount of conditioned response whenever I make a remark.

I go there often and don't get picked upon - and they can see from my location I'm from Ontario. I think it's about what you say and how you say it then the topic frankly. I don't wish to debate gun control, their health care or their government as for the most part it does not concern me. If Americans want to debate stuff we do up here - sure I'll put my 2 cents in but for the most part we're like some form of Alien from another planet that looks like them, speaks the same... sort of
so we walk among them without trouble. I like it that way - grey mode = safer mode. Now Zookie *might* have an issue going through US Customs with his PLO scarf... LOL If he'd only wear the Yankies baseball hat sideways and hum rap songs he'd have no problem!

Wow. Way to make lots of friends. Sounds to me like you have already made up your mind, so why ask in the first place? And to answer your question buried amongst your insults, no, you would not be harassed for being Canadian. You might be harassed for slinging insults, however.
