Default I QUIT!!!

Smoking that is. Gonna give it a go.

So, I decided that need to finish my pack at night, and be done with it. come morning there would be no cigarettes.

Last week, I made up my mind! DONE. whenever it happens, this is the week!

Well that day came on Saturday night. as of Sunday morning, I've had only Two(2) ciggarettes, and both on sunday. last one at 4:00 pm

So it has been 48 hrs now,

good for you....don't give up. Push away from the triggers for awhile, coffee, alcohol/social drinking and it'll be a major boost. Whatever you do don't get drunk around smokers for at least a month......

There is a common thought that the chemical dependency of nicotine is totally out of your system after a few weeks, after that it's all willpower.

You can do it man.

Good on ya! The day I decided to quit, I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it under the hardest circumstances, so that very night I went out with friends and pounded them back. No problem. I started smoking again socially a few years later, but it was a passing fancy, and I haven't had a smoke in years. In fact, I can't stand the thought of it now.

Wow ...thought I have seen it all on this forum. Isn't there a quit smoking forum some where?
Good luck and be strong...I have a friend that use to smoke 2 packs a day and when he got divorce and realized how much it cost him a month on smokes, he quit cold turkey and hasn't had a smoke for 7 years.

Way to go Steve!
I quit cold turkey 20 years ago..I haven't looked back. Now cigars on the other hand, are an entirely different matter!...more of a food group really...vegetarian breakfast at our Sat GTGs!

hang in there.. you won't regret it. I looked into my daughters eyes, new years eve 16 years ago, handed her a brand new pack and my lighter. Told her to throw them in the garbage. to this day, i can still see the pleasure in her eyes. Have not had a puff since. best thing i ever did.

The extra cash went along way to helping get me my dream car.

good luck.... stay strong.. there are rough days ahead, but you can do it....

regards

Good luck with that. Despite the nay-sayers, quitting cold turkey can be done.

I have a buddy did it 10 years ago
