Default voip for home italk bb

well I just hooked up my new phone for my new house.
I am using Italk BB. it is something like $8 per month and has every feature known to man. it is supposed to be clearer than regular phone service...I will keep you posted but may be worth switching especially if you deal with bell or rogers. I think it may include north america long distance and can have a china phone number.

I tried Comwave a while back, what a piece of crap!! ( $9.00 per month)
Plus they wanted $600.00 when I gave back their non working equipment (Modem).
I had tried over 2 weeks, endless hours on the phone with poor tech support.

I hope your experience is better with italk BB.

Primus TalkBB since 2005? - $23.xx after tax..... lots of call features, really only use call display, and caller ID, call answer....

More LD minutes than I'll ever use.... up 99.9% of the time...

911 even worked - everyone turned ok.

It sounds good (no pun intented).
I just purchased MagicJack $20.00 PER YEAR.

Can't beat that, but net connection must be reliable.

I've had Vonage VOIP for years, and have been very happy with it. Very few problems. The products you have talked about so far look like they have almost as many features as Vonage, they are cheaper (Vaonge is $20 or $30/month) and if they work as well, you will be pleased.

One feature of Vonage that I like is Vonage Access, which lets you phone a local number in most places, from which you can then connect with a Vonage phone without paying long distance fees. It's handy when I'm away from home, and making calls home from my cell.

yes this service has the same feature with local numbers to call for free calling from your cell phone.
what are the limitations of magic jack? does it work the same way? does it plug into the router or computer?

No limitations per se, just router settings and net connection dictate
audio quality.

Plugs into any USB, anywhere World wide.
It is little gadget at www.magicjack.com
No affiliation.

I'm moving and looking to reduce some of the monthly costs(phone bill). Are you still with them Dan, how did it work out?

Any one else got a killer price compared to BELL or ROGERS?

With all the cell packages now, who needs to pay for a home phone line?
What I did was get a couple Panasonic cordless home phones with bluetooth capability.
When I get home it links up and tadaaaa!
Now when someone calls the cell, it rings on all the home phones.
It can handle up to 5 phones. 5 color LEDs blink to show who it for too.

ADT Cellguard.
As the name states, it uses cell networks.

There's also Rogers Home Monitoring which uses the cable/internet lines.
You can have a phone app to control the house.
