I don't know about a 993, but my 986 take regular fuse that you can buy everywhere, Canadian tire, etc..

Don't buy them at Princess Auto....the are sub standard and melt without blowing. Worked on an 89 928 that had a pair of them in the fuse panel and it was hell figuring out what the real problem was. Pay a little extra and buy quality brand name ones. Or do what I do.... once evcery few yeaers when I'm at the wreckers, I go fuse shopping. A needle nose pliers and a small cofee can. Most of them are OE so I know they are quality stuff and usually end up paying very little for top notch fuses and relays.

Just stuff a penny in there, or if it won't fit, some bunched up tin foil.

With an R5, that would be considered a good start!

Did the R5 have fuses? These Renault are definitely more high-tech than I thought

Onami: why are you blowing fuses on those low miles museum pieces? I have yet to change a fuse on my 993 just curious why?
also what is the story behind the change from Zedder to Onami? I must have missed that story.

Dan: I blew the fuse for the fog lights (DRLs) and back-up lights. I suspect the reverse switch on the tranny went south - aparantly this is fairly common.

Zedder was a nickname from my time with '67 Z's. Since I am out of them now, I went with another name. I guess I'm starting a new chapter in my car life
