OK, now one for the parents (dads?) out there... an inexpensive stylish booster seat for your 4 to 10 year old that actually fits in the back seat of your 996 (and presumably 997).
Of all places, I found it at Canadian Tire, it is only $24.99 and has subtle grey coloring. You can find it here (link), it is item 46-6045-0. I was notified to it by a customer review on the Canadian Tire site.
Anyway, it is manufactured in China by Apramo, a Canadian company, and it fits in perfectly in the miniature rear seats! None of the other boosters we had fit the spot.

Well, this may be the least sexy user image ever posted, but here goes... Yes, that is a baby seat in the back... Probably like at least a few of the other members here that are Dads, there was NO WAY that my wife would let me buy a car that I couldn't take the kids out in... Butzi Porsche would be proud! The Canadian Tire booster that I'm posting about is the one on the right, I think it actually looks pretty swish ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

C'mon Spender! Where are you??
I bought this seat at Canadian Tire yesterday because another Rennlist member said he installed it in his 996 (Cosco Regal Ride - aka Scenera at Zellers). I can't see how this is possible, but I haven't given up hope. I'll search for that post and try to draw him in again.
The seat has a narrow enough base to fit. My problem is that the belt goes through the seat behind the small of the child's back. Since the belt buckle on my Targa is anchored so far forward (nicely placed to wrap around an adult), it won't fasten the seat tightly in place against the seat back. I couldn't get a picture that shows this any clearer than my description.
Any thoughts?
Incidentally, why doesn't my car have the Latch hooks down low? I thought it was mandatory by 2002.

Nah, the problem is the reverse. I have too much slack. Taking the seat out made it 'worse'. If I can install UAS bolts in a better position I will take the seat out for a tighter fitment.

I read somewhere on the 993 forum of someone who installed a 'latch anchor' the place of the seatbelt. I remember thinking it was a good idea but didn't take much note other than that. The thread is still active I think. If you search car seats over there you should find it.
I have three kids under 5. But my plan is to wait until they are in a booster and then put them in without the booster. My 5 year old fits in the back seat better (tighter) without a booster than he does in our SUVs with the booster. That being said, if I can get a legal carrying situation for $25 from my local CT, it might be well worth it.

Hi everybody - sorry about that, I've been out driving my Porsche... and also didn't think there would be that much interest in this thread!
The car seat is a Fisher Price model from 2006. Incidentally, while it fit the spot, it didn't really tie down all that great (the passthrough of the seat belt, and the odd placement of the seatbelt clasp, simply allowed for too much lateral movement) . I have replaced it with a Britax Roundabout, which fits great and secures down perfectly. According to some other boards, Britax is the company that makes the Porsche branded seats.
