Omar Does The Nurburgring
No it's not a cheezy followup to Debbie does Dallas, though with any luck I will whip out my ***** at some point.
I'm going to france for two weeks this summer to drive a Formula Renault and if my finances are still in order: the 2007 Renault F1 car! WOOTEB!
While I'm there though, The N-Ring is only 4:30 away so I'm gonna try to head down there for an open day.
Those of you who have been there, can you offer any advice in the form of:
1) Which rental company has the best service in terms of motorcycle or race car rental?
2) Hotels worth staying at (preferably as close to the ring as possible if i'm gonna do an overnight there, just for logistic reasons)
3) Other things to take into consideration.
4) How do I say: "Capital knockers Madam" in german?
5) Anything else to do/see in France while there (it sounds like i can't see it all in one trip and will have to go back again).
6) Arnaud: do you have une cousine between the ages of 19-30 i should know about?
A trip of this magnature requires epic planning, or better yet someone to tag along, who has as little self preservation sense (and preferably better financing) than myself. Anyone want to come along? As soon as I firm up the dates I can let you know. Depending on availability I might book a timeshare week or 2 there so the stay could potentially be free.

How the heck are you arranging a drive in a Formula Renault. I need that knowledge brother. I may be able to come along if we can plan it right.
And "nice t*ts" is pretty universal, non?

Here are a few things to consider:
(1) You need to check the open days as they change constantly. You are better off midweek to avoid crowding, but most days its only open late afternoon. Sometimes you get a half day. Check the calendar on the official Nurburgring site.

(2) regular road car rental routinely excludes the NS from insurance coverage, and if they catch you they will give you a lifetime worldwide ban
(3) if you are shipping a car from here you need to be VERY careful about the insurance coverage.
(4) My favorite place to stay is the am Tiergarten because its where the development teams stay often and its close by.http://www.am-tiergarten.de/en/home/
(5) the biggest RIng rental operation is RSR

(6) If you want an instructor PM me and I can give you some people.
(7) The hotel above has the best restaurant in Nurburg, called the Pistenklause.
(8) the Northloop site in the UK is helpful

I rented from RSR this summer and was very happy with them. We had dinner at Pistenklause - it was excellent. Didn't stay at Tiergarten, but it looked very nice - will stay there in the future.
