Default Porsche to Discuss F1 Programme

Interesting news!

I personally would love to see them competing and beating Ferrari and McLaren, but that may take some time to accomplish. Me tinks they could buy an existing team,...seeing that they are using the Williams KERS system that union would not be too far off.

Thoughts... .

This would be fantastic to watch. Wasn't the first and last Porsche works F1 victory in 1962?

Ya something like that... Dan Gurney was the driver.

It would be great for Porsche to come back and beat Mercedes to their first modern day victory as well.

If they do, let's hope it won't be like in 1991. What a fiasco it was

it would be a disaster .. this is not their playground .. and as we were told by the head of race development . The purpose of Porsche race programs is to prmote the sale of street cars .. f1 will not F1 will not do this .

The new corporate regime might alter that notion. The new entity is VW and a successful F1 could be used to substantiate the brand. Looks like a reasonable plan to me. If Toyota could do it unsuccessfully with a Brit/German team then I expect Porsche would not have any problem at all. Looking back at CanAm they all but demolished the field with the 917-10 & 30.
