Hi Jim
Good meeting you and thanks very much for the shots. I think I detect my seal grey 996 cab in shot 3. If you have any more pics of it on track, they would be welcome. Pls pm me and I will send you my email address.
By the way, wheels looked a real mess at the end of the day!
Regards
Ian

Thats a great place to spot. On race day arguably the best. Nothing on this earth could sound or look like a field of CanAm McLarens and Lolas on the opening laps of those races and it was only after riding with Mark in his amazing car that I really appreciated what McLaren, Hume, Folmer, Donahue, Stewart did back then on the old track at 1:17s. BTW. The 917-10 was first introduced at Mosport driven by Mark Donahue and I first saw it from the outside of # 1 as it overtook a gaggle of cars on the inside. The difference in speed was equal to a 911 overtaking a Honda Civic, and because of the Turbos it was almost soundless except the for when the wastegates popped. That was something special.

Drifting
Just found a picture of me online! I was blue flagging up track (top of 2) when the Ferrari decided to deconstruct itself and leave parts everywhere at the exit of cor 1 so I ran down track with the debris flag. While picking up parts after the red flag was out I found a bar of tungsen that must have been around 25lbs (at least) jammed into the dirt near the curbing drivers left. I guess Rissi put as much weight as low down as they can but that would have been an interesting piece to have to dodge if it started bouncing...
I'm telling George (to the left of me) that it wasn't my fault! (I always think it's my fault when I show a blue and they move over and crash themselves.) Driver was fine by the way - car not so much. Write off and a DNS for the race. Hit the wall at cor 1 drivers left and slid down to the flag station at cor 2 drivers right. Thats a lot of momentum...
