i like it, but yes this is the swan song 997. the 991 will arguably be just a tad better but i bet the first 991 models won't match the 408hp engine output.

and the 997 is going out in style, love it would I pony up for a GT3 instead, why? I am sure I could drive these with PDK faster round a track then a GT3 and it doesn't need a big wing and take the GTS badge off and no one would no any better. It's also a good deal when you consider how much the X51 power package costs to add. It has the new engine which I believe will be bullet proof and has been in the cayman interseries.
My search for a 415 hp mk I 997 gt3 ended, no point with these coming out and the new rendition of the 911 coming round the corner it makes no sense.

To me, this model only makes sense if it's done in limited production numbers. If it has something you can't get on any other 911's and is a farewell to the 997 then ya, I'd like it.

I enjoy seeing older Porsches with model designators that I have to ask the owner about. Maybe this one will be in 20 years, but I doubt it.

So performance wise, this is the same as the S with X51 option, I guess the difference is you get the widebody look but without the weigh penalty of the awd system.

But the Cayenne GTS has Cayenne Turbo look. If only they fit this Carrera GTS with Turbo front and rear bumpers and Turbo rims, then it would hold value like the 996 C4S. Othewise, the review is bang on. On the other hand if someone was about to special order a C2S with alcantara interior, power kit and black rims, might as well buy this - good deal.

I like it a lot. Would someone lease one for three years and just drive it around the Yorkville Cumberland lap and inform me 3 months before lease is up please?

According to the German magazine "Auto Zeitung" in their issue 26 - 2010 the 991 will be offered initially with a 350hp or 400 hp engine (regular model and "S" model.

Nurburgring-Nordschleife in 7:40 which is faster than a 996 TT!

The issue has a clear picture of a 991 on the front cover and in the magazine itself.

The pictures are in English but the words in the article in German. However, not hard to figure out the hp numbers.
