I know I know.. but honestly, driving on the 407 and 427 to work every day....I don't think I'll notice a difference in the compound!
Also, I think the high performance all-season of today is probably a better summer tire vs. summer tires of 5-10 years ago...
I have Bridgestone RE750 summers on the SC, and it hydroplanes all over the place in the wet, but are awesome when at the right temp and pressure on the track.

My main route is the 401 aqnd 407 every day and the it is money well spent getting a winter set. You WILL notice the difference between an all season and winters when the temps drop. Winter compunds stay soft in cold while all seasons become harder and harder. In the long run, you are actually extending the life of your summer tires by not using hte m in the winter. Only the initial cost is more but at the end it all equals out. The only additional cost is a set of rims but even with those, you will save as you won't have to pay $75 each season swapping them out. Once you get a set of winters, you will understand what I and others are talking about. I would never agian have a DD in the winter witout winter tires.....never. My oppinion is that this should become a law, just like in Quebec.

And to illustrate Imre's comments, watch this video:

Winter tires are a must for winter conditions. It's not just slush, snow and ice but even on "dry" pavement in freezing conditions a summer or all season tire can have very little grip.
Look at it this way...you get to buy even more cool rims;-)

20 foot reduction (almost 50%) in stopping distance from 10 mph!

I'm with you (all).. however, I don't need a sticky summer tire that'll wear out quickly since I don't plan to push the limits of this car. I like that these supersport all seasons will be good and practical for those in-between season stages.
If I see some track time, then I'll change my tire strategy.

James, I'm running the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 110 and they're a nice, docile (even comfortable and quiet) summer tire and are quite cheap. You'll pay as much for all seasons as they cost at Tire Rack, so I think they may be worth a look.
Also, this thread is useless without pictures!

Pics coming, I PROMISE!
The real issue here is that I am too impatient, and those all-seasons were the only tires that were available in my size in a 24h time period. The old rubber was so bad, I wouldn't even roll it more than 10m on grass, downhill, so we'll see how these do.
If I start going sideways while driving down the 401 at the speedlimit, or if they are noisy, or if they compromise my driving style or the performance of the car, I'll kijiji them and get some proper summers.
Thanks for the tip Charlie.

These pics were taken about 3 years ago by the PPO.
She needs an afternoon with Dr. Dent and his surgical utensils, but the interior is literally brand new.

So few people drive them daily...heck, virtually no Porsche is driven daily...unfortunately.

Whoever does end up with your Targa will be very lucky.
It was nice meeting you as well, and thank you!
