Competition for your buck when buying a HD TV works well...not so well when you are just about dead and they know you need help...no choice in the matter.

BTW, my hospital stay all inclusive including the operation was €483 per day. That works out to about US$625 per day and I wasn't even a resident of the country. Service was first rate! So how can it cost what it does in the US? I know, do in all the lawyers.
US system is highly regulated and not a free market system by any stretch of the imagination though $$$ can get you instant service. I also have experience with systems in Austria, France and Switzerland..............skiing.......no waiting in emegencies.......MRI's on the spot, etc...that's what a parallel private system gets ya.
