On this off-repeated chart, the Turbo tail is the whale tail & the 3.3 Turbo is the tea tray turbo tail. It isn't just for looks. It helps to keep the rear planted at speed & it helps to stabilize the car from crosswinds (or the pesky transport truck generated crosswind).
Yesterday I drove back from the Adirondacks - including a 1 hour vicious rain/wind storm on the 401. It was firmly planted at 130k/hr (80 mph) without the slightest sway or buffet from trucks etc. It works. Drove an amazing route in the Adirondacks on Monday btw. I had 1+ hours of great twisties . . . new pavement . . . no traffic . . . tunes blaring . . . top down . . . life is good . . .

I drove to Montreal and back (with tail still installed) on the weekend. Got some really nasty weather - cat and dog downpour, and a wicked crosswind.
I had to slow down from 130 to 80, since the car was hydroplaning all over the place... It was fun, but a bit scary considering people in their SUVs were flying by me.
I guess there was just too much water on the road - otherwise, she's pretty sturdy.
Thanks for the chart, it's very interesting.

I only had a squiggle or two with hydroplaning, otherwise it was very planted. I was just following tail lights at that point & it was uphill. It absolutely poured from Trenton until Oshawa. My Toyo T-1R tires are great in rain. But my defrost was only so-so since I don't have AC.
