Default Gerry Low Upcoming track days Mosport & TMP

Gerry asked me to post these on his behalf.

Drivers,

Saturday, April 3rd at Mosport was perfect. Great weather, fast cars, and courteous drivers. The track was clean and dry, even at 5B. We ran 2 run groups and everyone had plenty of track time. This Sunday, April 11th, the Mosport GP is again available to us. The weather forecast calls for sunny and 15C horsepower degrees. The plan is 3 run groups, 5 marshals, instruction for novices, and the usual safety rules. Pre-season prices remain in effect at $330 (cash or cheque). Time is from 9am to 5pm. Bring your own gourmet lunch. Please advise interest by Thursday morning.

TMP on Monday, April 12th, is forecast to be 16 degrees with isolated showers. A great opportunity to take your car control to the next level. April priced at $130(pre-registered), $150(at gate), plus $50 for instruction (all plus GST). Time is from 9am to 5pm.

Hey, do you guys need any volunteers at the track days? I don't have a car worthy of tracking but would love to get more involved if you need marshals or tech inspection help etc...? (I would only be able to do weekends).

Shoot me a PM or talk to me at the Saturday GTGs!

Maybe Monday at TMP.....

Do people usually stay the whole day? Is there any more info on how the day is run?

I've tracked motorcycles at TMP and Shannonville multiple times as well as taking FAST 1. Might be fun to take the Boxster S out on the track for a bit....

(spoke to Gerry.... seems like a nice guy, his impression is that car days are safer than bike days....)

During my first time there, I asked him where is the worst place to crash

And he told me the same story about the bike and the concrete

I'm planning on going to Mosport on Sunday. These early season days are rare with so few cars. If the weather holds, I'll be there.

Yup, at mosport, he runs two run groups. At TMP, it's open track. Gerry's days are usually lightly populated so you get more track time than you know what to do with. I spend more money on gas at his track days than the entry fee.

attended the TMP day on Monday.... Got the instruction from Gerry and Terry. My 1st time out on the track in a car, but had done various trackdays on a trackbike.

only 3 cars for most of the day , including a Nissan GTR, recent AMG SL65.

Definitely recommended. By the end of the day, and emptying my tank (should of topped up when I got there) I was hitting the lines pretty good (tires on curbing / edge of track where indicated - vs being off by 3-5ft in the morning) and using 2nd, 3rd, 4th gears to circulate the track.....

I think I may have caught the bug..... damn it!

Updates from Gerry:

This Sunday, April 18th and Tuesday, April 20th, the Mosport GP is again available to us. The weather forecast calls for a sun/cloud mix and 13C for both days. The plan is 3 run groups, 5 marshals, instruction for novices, and the usual emphasis on safety and accuracy. Pre-season prices remain in effect at $330 (cash or cheque). Time is from 9am to 5pm. Bring your own gourmet lunch. Please advise interest on one or both dates by Thursday morning.

Monday, April 19th, forecast is sunny and 14 degrees. An excellent opportunity to develop your driving skills on a safe and technical 3km road course (TMP). April priced at $130(pre-registered), $150(at gate), plus $50 for instruction (all plus GST). Time is from 9am to 5pm.

I'm thinking of attending TMP on the 19th if I can get the day off.
