Default Anyone had problems with Auto Trader?

Specifically, online at trader.ca? I've been trying to list my car there for over a week now. After the first attempt, I get an auto-email saying my ad's been deleted because it's a commercial sale. I write back immediately saying no, it's my personal car, registered in my name, etc. No response. Another email, no response. So I call them, the guy (who probably has a hard time spelling his own name) tells me to just resubmit it, so I do. This was Thursday - they say 12 hours to vet all new submissions, but it's still not showing yet.

Anyone else had this problem?

I just listed my BMW in minutes. Did you get the activate Ad email?

It's funny how they stop the commercial ads but not the scams!

Lol

Just list your car for $2800 and it will go through. They love Nigerians - just not Hamiltonians!

I got the confirmation email both times, one to click on to confirm, the other saying it'll be posted, but when I click the "find my ad" option and enter my phone number, I get nothing. Even searching all Porsche 1970-1980 doesn't turn it up.

Use Kijiji.

I sold the TR6 that way last year with way more interest than the previous few years with AutoTrader.com And Kijiji is FREE

AutoTrader is now owned by the Yellow Pages. As a business owner I hate those bastards who for years have used their monopoly to exploit other business owners. The internet has knocked them down a peg. </rant>

Huh, whuddya know, it's back up - thank guys. Maybe they actually read the pleading/bitching email I sent and re-posted it. A response would be nice. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

Why not become a member and list it for sale here? Don't want to keep it in the family?

Christien, I have one listed on Autotrader at the moment, too, and they kept rejecting it due to the following error: "Suspected fraud. Price too low." I finally had to call them, and they approved the ad within five minutes. If you continue to have trouble, try calling.

This is mine, for the record.

Any luck finding a new one, by the way?

I did just that - called them yesterday and got it approved. It's still there, afaik.

Lots of luck finding new ones - I've had several people contact me offering cars, all of which look great. 2 I'll definitely be getting PPIs on, as soon as my car sells.
