Ok,

here is the story:

I am looking at a 944 for racing that requires some work. It is rolling, but not running/driving.

I live in Calgary, car is in toronto. Shipping is more expensive to get it here, and quite frankly, the shop rate in Calgary is $105. Some are "only" 90. I guess there is no recession, or my brain is so thick it can't handle the numbers.

If nothing else, maybe I will get it running there, to get the lower rate on shipping.

Anyhoo, anyone know of anyone that works for less than that, and has a good reputation? The car I have needs complete electrical work (engine swap) and brake work (maybe manual brake upgrade for a track car) and probably lots of little stuff. Maybe like a quasi backyard guy?

Any suggestions?

a race shop with very low rate ? that is funny just on it's own ...

^^ as they both said, I don't know of anyone "cheap" but I can recommend the shop where I have my 944 track car....shop rate is $100/hr. PM me if you want more info

Can you wait a few months? If so I know the exact guy you are looking for. Was the head mechanic for one of the leading teams for the 944 Cup and 944 Turbo cup. Works out of his home garage. Trouble is he is very selective with his clients. You pay a deposit up front. Rates are very good. But he has a line-up of work until April/May. PM me is you are interested.
