Yep, at about 9:11 Sunday morning they did a 30-second spot on us, talking about our charity efforts, etc.

Jeff, what puzzles me is how you guys can pull this off... meaning how do you make money for charity as well as pay for the cost of the car, and all the expenses of fielding and racing a car.

The cost of the car, entrance fees, fuel/tires/etc, is paid for by the team/car owner, Steve Paquette, and his wife, Leah Thomas.

The crew donate their time and misc expenses.

Our goal is to find one or more corporate sponsors to take over those team costs, while all other cash raised goes toward the Children's Hospital.

If you know of a company that might be interested, please let me know!

We're in it for the long haul, and are willing to make these initial sacrifices to prove just what it is that we're capable of, as a vastly underfunded team.

We're hoping that a major sponsor will recognize and appreciate that, and then step in as a partner and provide the financial backing required to TRULY be competitive.

This past year or 2 has been really tough for that, obviously, but we're determined to keep going.

Great team and with a bit of luck and less "interference" from that DP car, you guys would have gone farther up the leader board. I've had the pleasure of meeting Kees before and actually worked on a Ford event a million years ago with Ross; both class acts and amazingly talented drivers. If the rest of your team is like that, then kudos to you!

By the way, I think we surprised more than one onlooker by our 5th in class ranking in the early morning, until we hit some oil, popped a rad, and then got hit by that DP.

Even though we're small, and underfunded, and a completely privateer/volunteer effort, we know what the hell we're doing, and have a legitimate shot with our driver lineup and car prep.

All we need is a bit of good luck, or lack of bad luck, and we're on the podium.

Mind you, it would also help if SPEED got their heads out of their asses and showed more GT coverage during the race. (that's my personal opinion, btw, and shouldn't be attached to Bullet Racing).

I'll say this again, I've worked with other Grand Am teams in the past, and the crew of Bullet Racing are second to none.

They are ALL professionals, in both talent and character.

Our driving talent is incredibly deep as well... with Ross, Kees, Darryl, and Sean.

Ross drove with us for the first time last year, and was very impressed, and as a result drove with us again this year. He's already tweeting about our next year's effort, and how to make it better, and you KNOW he's not one to sign on to a losing team. (I won't put words into his mouth, but I have no doubt he's incredibly happy with our team).

I couldn't be happier with or prouder of our team, and have utmost confidence in them.

I agree with you 1000% and sent Speed an email saying as much. The GT guys need the exposure way more than the DP cars and the GT cars are far more relavent to the general public.

You guys did a great job and made us Canadians proud!

Yup, agree! Those DP cars don't really do it for me either.

Thanks for the kind words.

If you really want to show your support, both for Canadian motorsport entries in Grand Am, as well as the Children's Hospital, please consider heading over to our web site and making a donation to the Children's Hospital.

http://bulletracing.ca

THAT is our true measure of success, and so far we've raised just over $160k for the cause this past weekend.

What would it take to modifiy your car to IMSA GT2 reg's? (Thinking we'd like to see you at Mosport in Aug!) Is it possible? Is your car based upon a 'cup' car or an RSR?

As far as Speed: They have their marching orders from Grand Am. They HAVE to show as much of the DP's as possible as that is the marketing for the series. It sucks and the crappo wagons (I have the same opinion of them as the IRL lawn dart machines) which are mainly NASCAR's idea of prototype racing pretty much bite it for me - but GT is where it's at for this fan. 90% of the fans can relate to GT cars.

I've crewed for region racers the odd time and was crew for a few 24 hour races back in the old SCCA Escort series and as well as FireHawk endro's so I have some understanding of how tough your racing is. 3:00AM was always the worst time for me and when goofy stuff always happened so my hats off to a fine effort and a great cause. <bowing>

I really don't know... but it's a Cup Car that's been modified to Grand Am spec. (I think that's about $80k worth of pieces parts added to a standard Cup).
