Default Help! My friend JUST put oil into the wrong fill tube: 2004 boxster S

Feel free to make fun of her.

This happened 5 minutes ago, she just called me, she lives in my building.

In the rear compartment, there is:

- a dipstick
- oil fill
- water fill .... it actually says water, so is that for coolant? (windshield wiper fluid is in the front compartment)

Two gulps of oil was poured into the "water fill" ... about 100mL

I told her NOT to start the car ... she's going to contact her dealership.
I told her i'd check here for any suggestions.

....wow.... This girl is a Big Deal in her professional life, but I gotta laugh at her decision making skills regarding cars/boys!

Regardless of sex it's not the first time that's happend.
Hopefully the oil is still on the top. Syphon the oil off asap.
Do it carefully as not to mix it with the coolant. She should be fine if she can get it all out, otherwise a system flush will be in order.

thanks guys.... I don't have time to do the siphoning for her today, PLUS,
she said the car was having starting issues this week, so I suggested
she just tow her car to Autowerks to take care of it and the starting issues.

...she's got plenty $ to have someone else tend to it, besides, I gave her
my car so it's not urgent.

thanks again!

I hope it's not your P-car!

so just for clarification- are you defining anything other than the various 911 series (928's/944's?) as not a real porsche??
well i am not overly fussy about the boxster, imo, its a sports car - panamera, and the SUV hopefully will be rationalized within another VW company so that perhaps porsche can return to "what its all about" before it totally gets commoditized (a la BMW, aka the german chevrolet).

present 964 turbo look cab, previous 2 late model Alfas (including a GTA-best there is for the price), 2 BMW's(never again), American & Japanese muscle.

real porsches don't have a spot to add "water"...just oil and air! so on a real porsche there is no spot marked water that you could accidentally add oil to.

btw: what happened to the OP's friends oil that it needed some added?

Bah... Danny is just one of those PCA old timers that believe impact bumpers on Porsches in 1973 was the end of the marque along with the invention of indoor plumbing!

actually tend to agree.....(and personally believe best were 964's/993's....amazingly dependable, drives like a go cart, among the last of the hand builts)....but also tend to view porsche as a sports car icon and had to compete in the sports car marketplace therefore evolution required (but an SUV, 4 dr sedan?)
