Hi Everyone,
I've been a long time lurker and finally registered today. Please go easy on me with one of my first posts asking for advice. As soon as I learn more I'll promise to contribute where I can. I'm in the market for a Cayman S and the following link really caught my attention:
http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_C...ributes=photos,,
I called the seller and he seemed helpful and the car sounds to be really well cared for and documented so that is a good start. My question is that I intend to go see the car on Friday and was wondering what I should be looking for or at in purchasing a Porsche. The seller seems really accomodating but the more info the better I think. Please offer any advice as it is welcome.
Edit: See my later post. Went to see the car and it is PERFECT. Problem is that stuff happened and I can't buy it any more. That said if you are in the market consider this one. Its condition and options would be hard to top.

Looks like a fairly well options Cayman S. You don't find many with PCM or many of the optoins that car has.
Hard to find comparables to check the price... I had saw a really nice GT Silver/Cocoa with similar options on autotrader US for 39 or so. That was going to be about 45-47 delivered to my door with taxes. I'd strongly recommend looking in the US, at a bare minimum to see what else is available. I didn't end up buying down south this time, but its worth looking.
.. and always get a PPI. Most people recommend autowerks in woodbridge.. ive never been.

Thank you for the replies and keep them coming as I will be going to see the car tomorrow. The owner told me that the car has never been tracked. It was pleasure use car. As for looking in the US everyone is different but for me the savings just are not enough to justify the time and unknown element of chasing a car below the border. It is a personal comfort thing more than anything else.
As for the options, yes the list looks pretty good. I also like that the owner put on a clear bra, iPod, DasShild hood liner. Those are all things I'd be interested in and factors nicely into the sale price.

Hmmm... mostly because of the associated risk of going to the track (ask me how I know). I would hate buying a used car that has hit a wall at the track and not knowing it. Therefore, I would spend more time inspecting a track car for body work and suspension work that a Carfax or Carproof may not reveal...

Someone said they think it's expensive for a 4 y.o. Cayman.
I think they are right. You should be able to find 911s for that price. Not to say no one will buy it, but I think they'll pay too much. There will be better deals through the winter, or in the US.

Guys, he said he doesnt want a 911 and he doesnt want to shop in the US. SO... based on those parameters is it a good price?? I have no idea but if a nice one in the US, as pointed out by someone else, is around $47k delivered vs this guys $49.9 asking (vs one in Calgary that is cheaper but 3 times the mileage!!) and it is well optioned and it checks out.....buy it. Just negotiate your best deal and go for it
