Lap of Mosport in Cayman S, street tires
Blinded by the windshield unfortunately, but here is a lap (maybe a few seconds off of me driving at Mosport). You can see a GT3 Cup Car coming around me FAST.
Before I get flamed for not wearing a helmet, I do sometimes....just consider there are pros and cons to helmets when not combined with ALL the safety of a modern race car and it's systems versus a street car with airbags, and regular belts.
BEWARE IF YOU DON'T KNOW MOSPORT WELL THE WINDSHIELD GLARE MAKES IT HARD TO FOLLOW ----

I can't believe you would take the time to post that on utube let alone put a link here. I can only see inside the car, the front windshiled is so far away , not zoomed and overexposed since the light reading is taken from inside the car. why would you post this? do you have any footage which shows the track?

I'm definitely not going to pile on, since I still don't have the hang of shooting track video, and that's a _way_ faster lap than I was capable of at Mosport.
That said, you've got a pretty wide lens, there, so with some creative mounting (Dash? Passenger seat headrest?) you might still be able to show steering wheel and gear shift, while also getting a broader view through the windshield.
Automatic exposure will still be tricky, though, since you have a dark dash and interior which is in the shade.
Another Rennlister called Webbie was on track with me at Mosport recently in a Cayman S, and he had a really slick camera mount. It might be worth asking him what he uses.
One other point: generally, basic cameras and video cameras use centre-weighted metering, wherein 70% of the light meter reading is weighted to a circle covering 30% of the middle of the frame. If you were to arrange the camera so that that 30% centre spot were pointed out the windshield, auto exposure would be working for you, rather than against.
Keep shooting video!

Thanks Pontifex. Posted by a friend on youtube who did the in car.
I know it kind of didn't work, but I thought it gave a good in car and sound track (way too much windshield glare). Heck, it isn't great...but if you know Mosport you'd follow the track.
Obviously will try to get better video next time. Thanks, but I did post that unfortunately there was windshield glare and thanks to Pontifex for giving some positive critique on the in car.
