Does service work at an Indie invalidate a CPO?
Based upon all the crap I here about the service or lack thereof and high costs at the two local dealers, I'm considering getting my 72k service on a CPO car done by someone I trust who will give me good service and not require a bank loan for payment. I'm a little concerned though that this might invalidate the CPO warranty. What do you guys think?

the text in the CPO warranty booklet i have in front of me says
"Your Responsibility for Maintenance -
You must maintain your Porsche according to the Maintenance Schedule in the Maintenance Booklet and the Car Care Instructions in the Owner's Manual and keep the receipts as proof of maintenance."
Based on that (and ensuring they indie uses approved replacement parts) you should be OK ...
For my previous new warranty car, I would take it to the local dealer each spring for annual service and to my local independent or do it myself for everything else. Having the dealer annual maintenance records definitely helped in the trade in discussions.
I'd check the maintenance schedule for what's involved in the 72k checkup and if its all routine, go with the indie and keep receipts. If its at all "interesting" maybe its worth the dealer hassle.
