This seems like pure marketing to me. Limited edition for sure, but lots of $$ for nothing special in he performance department compared to the Turbo/GT2/GT3...

$240,000 USD from the Euro price so may be less when it gets to the States.
I like the car, looks great, nice hat tip to the years of past. However, how long will it take some tuner company to do a replica kit? Not long and probably $100,000 cheaper

Your math is not correct: a base Carrera retails EUR 85,000.00 on average in Europe, while it costs USD 76,300.00 in the US. If you apply the same ratio to this limited edition, it means the MSRP should be around USD 150,000.00. Still a lot of money, but considering that an averagely optioned Carrera S will run easily into USD 115,000.00, an extra USD 35K for such a unique car is not that bad and I doubt that a tuner will be able to match the price for the body/wheel treatment, the interior touches and the engine upgrade...

Oh yeah I was just copying the price from the Autoblog article. They converted the euro price of EUR 169,300. I think the wheels, spoiler & rear bumper will eventually be copied because they look damn good. The roof bubble would be harder I'd imagine. But yes I wonder what engine tweaking they did?

I like the new intake manifold, hopefully see that on the next model.

too bad. the cayenne, awkward though it was, was a capable offroader. so they're going back to just making sports cars eh. going to be hard to justify massive flagship showrooms for 2 product lines.

Danny avoids the bull@#! flag as their appears to be reputable internet sources.
The interrnet sources are still based on rumors - didn't see any quotes or anything official from VW.

Beautiful car, and what a sound (video on link below).
But... more expensive than a GT2? Value is in the eye of the beholder..
