Default Sad News to report...

To my Sport Car Friends out there ...

It is my sad duty to let everyone know that Bill Smook passed away early this morning, at about 1:00am.

Bill's son William has been working at my store this summer, and he had left me a voice message this afternoon, I called him back, and spoke to his uncle, and he told me about Bill's passing.

I took a small care package over to his family this evening, and offered them what ever support I could.

His wife told me that there would be a notice in the Toronto Star, and that they were planning on a Sunday funeral.

Rennlist guys would know Bill from the Saturday morning GTG's ... and he was a part of the Exotics Cruise this past weekend.

Mark

This is so hard to believe. We just exchanged PM's last week concerning the Exotics cruise. Rest in peace Bill....

Was Bill the guy that had a couple of vette's including that white special edition one ? I think it was named after a Canadian race driver whoe's name slips my mind. it had red stripe over the front frnder . ( my applogies but i know most guys by their cars )

Yes, that was Bill's Ron Fellow's Z06. His latest car was a black '07 Z06 that he picked up back in the Spring. Bill loved to switch up his cars...

Sad, very sad. I'm not sure exactly who he is but I think I remember seeing a Ron Fellows vette at one of the GTG's. Could someone post a happy photo of him and his car?

Ya. This is terrible news. Bill was a super nice guy and his family are just about the coolest people out there. RIP.

I'm so sad to hear this; he was certainly one of the good guys. Godspeed Bill and hope you enjoy some great rides wherever you may be. You will be missed at our GTG's.

Unreal, I spoke to him just recently at the exotic cruise. Super nice fellow and a real car guy. Will be missed by renny and corvette forum.

R.I.P Bill.

Wow, I too just talked to him. Last I saw him he was filming the cruise on his Blackberry.

Not to be ignorant but was this a medical condition? Seems like he was too young to go in his sleep.

Hope his family is okay.

According to Mark's post on CF, this was unexpected and perhaps a heart attack or blood clot...
