At seems that, if you're sitting at one of the cafes on the Red Mile in the summer, you can see a Ferrari go by about every 10 minutes.

Are you talking about the 'loser cruiser' bunch that just going up and down in bumper to bumper traffic trying to catch attention?

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot more p-cars in Calgary than there was even a few years ago. Everytime I turn around, I see another one...

Recession? What recession!

Calgary seems to have more nice cars per capita out of any city I have been to in Canada or the US

I have to go check that out some morning.......I'll take the truck, my poor mans 944 will look out of place there, lol

Yes sir....all the water pumpers are a 'dime a dozen'....from the Boxsters to the 996 and up 911's. Those egg shaped headlights must have been a hit! Then there's the Cayenne....and soon to be released Panamera.

we also have a couple(at least) here in Toronto. Only problem is the owners rarely if ever take them out. so you never see them. they were at the FCA meet last year.

Thanks again for a good show....whenever I see cars from the past, I often have to wonder if the engineers/designers who designed/created them look back and think to themselves - wtf was I thinking ??! To me, looking at the wheels on that BMW M1 or the overall design of that Countach - makes me think, Wow - bad day at the office or what? I would imagine that like anything, it would have been leading technology at the time and everything done for a purpose. But, WOW....

No problem. These events are to share the passion and the cars to everyone. I agree that some of the designs (especially the ones with body cladding or outrageous designs) can be very dating and gaudy. For example, the Gemballa designed 911's or the big scoop and wing Countach cars....but some are oh so classy and timeless. That original red Countach LP400 sans wings and buldges is so pure and simple in design. Same with that gorgeous 400GT....I love the lines. Penned with passion vs the wind tunnel of today.

Those wheels on the M1 are rather...underwhelming.

When you own a supercar such as these, after a while you realize you are only the custodian of a piece of mechanical artwork. Frequently after a drive day I will make a pass on 17th as a way of sharing, when she doesn't want to go to the garage yet. I can easily hide her away sooner, a bit like hogging a Rembrandt away from prying eyes. I have no personal need of the attention, I bought the car because I thought it was beautiful. I did for a long time, still do.
I had no idea I was a cruiser loser.
