This is what happens when cousins marry...... a 944 and a 928!

Nice car, what's the story? Looks like it's been out of commision for as long as my 928.

It arrived home today. Special thanks to Mark Lue for helping me muscle the thing from there to here. US Customs was a breeze as was the Canadian side. No problem or hassles.

It will be interesting to see how far down the space goes once you get the engine in. Right now it is very Cayenne'ish

+1 ... until he drops that V8 in the "Flintstone 968" will have more than enough ground clearance. I should have brought a camera, if only to take pics of Jim standing in the engine bay.

This car seems to attract alot of attention in the short time we had her out... a few people were asking alot of unsolicited questions... .

Oooh, now the fun begins! Jim, not only do I owe you several hours of labour, but I'd really like to come help with the install, so if you want an extra set of hands, by all means, please let me know!

This is going to be a lot like the build on your daughters car Phil. That was a ton of fun to watch.

Thanks Justin. I love that little car...now if I could just get my daughter to wash it herself once in awhile!

After the effort you put into that rebuild, I would have thought she would have been obsessive about that car. Probably a case of you having more sentimental value into the car than she does.

She loves to drive it and does very well (learning a bit of toe/heel)...but she prefers it when daddy washes it!

Congrat Jim - awesome to see what I'd heard so much about.

What's the timeline looking like now?

Can't wait to see this beast come together.

Cool, I have a spare 32V 928 engine sitting in my garage, you are more than welcome to take any measurements you need......in case you want to shoehorn one in.

Good point. I don't like getting covered with dirt and grease so i pressure blasted ( killing one machine and requiring a trip to Costco) the underside and the crap that came off was huge so the second issue was cleaning the garage which is now completed. The six speed has gone to new home to live in a 951 in Windsor. Next is to pull the front and rear suspension and send the rears out for bead blasting. The fronts are custom chromoly control arms with spherical bearings, the rears get special bushings and torsion bar delete for coil over. Tomorrow I'm bring the PCM to CanAm for shipping to a tuner in NC who will flash a custom program. CanAm have a few packages waiting for me, including the pop-up front license plate bracket.
