Default CV Grease

Where,brand/type?

I'm not having any luck for a CV grease, swepco 101 or Liqui Moly are nowhere to be found. Does Mobil 1 have a comparable grease?

Thoughts?

Jim

CV grease is CV grease in my mind ... the CV joints in a Porsche are no different than any other I would imagine.

That's my thinking as well but when my Bentleys and Pelican lists a moly grease i'll deferr to folks who know more than I.

I just use regular old moly grease from Canadian Tire - it's worked fine for years for me.

Some CV grease works better on certain Porsche models than others........................................eg. 944 to 911

i would be interested to know to as I am sure porsches from the same era used the same type cv joints from the same manufacturer. i think they were lobro if I am not mistaken. I can see the loading being a little bit different but not significant.

I wasn't able to find swepco locally so I just ordered it from Pelican. (I had to order some odds and ends anyways)
10 bucks and change US per tube (14.4 oz per tube) I don't know what it sells for up here but I don't imagine it's a whole bunch cheaper.

Matt & George has a special mix that works extremely well on certain Porsche's, but they won't tell me. Mechanics secret.....................................
