Default Seeking Independent Shop for PPI in Calgary

Hey folks,

I need to get a PPI done on a 2003 C4S in Calgary. Any suggestions on where I can get this done besides the single dealer here?

Thanks.

I posted in your thread on the Pelican site too. I suggest Riegel Tuning or Alpine Autowerks. Both are good, I take my car to Riegel.

Thanks for the information. Do Riegel and Alpine also inspect the paintwork/paint density to ensure that the car hasn't been repainted or been in an accident? Also, should I get Carfax, Autocheck, Carproof history checks? Thanks.

and I know that this is what you are planning and want...but instead of the techart stuff use that money to get a turbo...most likely you will wish you had the extra power down the road and you get the aero effects but from the factory and will get it back when you sell, unlike the techart...which may decrease the value when sellining.
hey it's your car, but that is what I would do.
again good luck

If you want paint measured...call Jed.

http://mobilereflections.ca/

Get a carproof report....to get history.

Keith used to work with Marc (they shared shop space).....I don't think he's running Rennsport anymore.

PPI scheduled for tomorrow with Riegel Tuning. I'll go ahead and get the Carfax/Carproof histories. I'm pumped!

OK - so PPI is done and these were the issues (in no particular order):
- Wipers
- Battery is weak (8.9v)
- Coolant expansion cap is leaking
- Small amount of oil in intake system
- Air intake snorkel clip broken
- Coolant weak (-22)
- Rear main seal leak
- Left front differential seal leak
- Front bumper and hood has been repainted (repainted really well though)

All in all the above items would total approximately $3500 to repair. Riegel told me to offer the seller 42k so I did and the guy won't budge claiming he can get 44.5k at the local MB dealer as a trade-in for the new car he wants to buy.

So the search continues... sigh.

He's not the only one with a 996 C4S...996's were sold by the dozen. Keep at it, it takes a while to find the perfect car for you. Patience....

good luck
although it may not seem that way the search is half the fun! and in this market it seems, even with spring aproaching, the longer you wait, the less you pay.

Remedy:

Keith Sawatsky is now working at a local MB dealer; he may know of some cars that are available.

Have you considered bringing in a U.S. car? Even with the current unfavourable exchange rate, you may not be that far off Canadian prices, and the selection would be much better.
