Fantastic time!

Thanks to the folks (Kevin and others) who pulled me a aside to offer advice on my track line.

#1 thing I learned: Don't be a chicken-sh*t: stop jamming on the brakes before the turns only to find you could have carried a lot more speed.

Thanks to Christien for playing on track nemesus. Of course the fact that his car has a full 1.0 ltr deficit to mine shows I still have a lot to learn in terms of carying speed at Mosport.

Arnaud, great event

I'm looking forward to July

Yep - Thanks Arnaud great day, good track behaviour, fun from start to slightly premature end with the rain. Good to see all you folks in person too.

Default Horn as a decelerometer!

I had a braking issue at 4 to 5 yesterday which came up in conversation at the end of the day. I had a noise which after several laps sort of sounded similar to the horn going off everytime I stomped on the brakes really hard. Checked the brakes - even replaced the well worn Pagids with some slightly less worn streets, still there but now also happening sometimes when late (and probably over) braking into 9, Well, I've discovered another 996 feature, it was the horn. Turns out the bushings holding the contacts weaken and the weight of the airbag makes the contact. Corner worker never waved once!

It was nice to see Christien's car. (mind you he was likely wondering who was stalking it lol)

No worries I'm looking forward to seeing pics and video! I know Geoff was shooting some video and I believe he actually caught me passing someone on the front straight!

Arnaud, as always you put together an amazing day - Thanks so much.

It was fun to be blown away by the Cup car (next time I'm hitting you up for a ride David). I managed to get out in Sean's 997. He was playing around with a different line in 2 where he would brake quite late and throw it in over the middle of the track ignoring the first apex and basically throttle steering through it (it felt like we were drifting ever so slightly around the majority of the turn).

Jumper - you manage to extract any lap times from your video?

I put together a quick edit from the footage I got - the movie is uploading now. I'll post a new thread when it's ready.

If you can pull this off, it's an amazing feeling. I've been a passenger where this was how the driver did more or less every turn, and it's unreal. It's very much how they say an instrument becomes an extension of the musician's body - the driver is in such control of the car that he can almost command it at will. You can actually experience 10/10ths for extended periods of time.
