I just got back from a week in Costa Rica and I met a German car guy at the resort. He was pronouncing the brand of our cars as Porsch-eh which I have never heard before. I have only ever heard it pronounced Porsch or Porsch-ah. After hearing him and looking at the "e" at the end of the name a little more closely, it makes sense. Anyone else heard it pronounced this way?

You can hear how the germans pronounce it on this video (BTW, a friend lent me the VHS tapes for these 2 vids a number of years ago and it cemented my need to one day own one..)

I love this line from Hurley Haywood:
"When a street 911 goes on to a racetrack, you can just beat that car all day long, abuse it, drive it around a racetrack at full speed, and then drive it home at night, and actually the car probably is thanking you for doing it, because that's what Porsches are all about, is performance."

I thought I might just interject with my bit of German background. I don't particularily care how it is pronounced either(you say Munich I say Munchen). It is pronounced Porsch eh, as is Mercedes pronounced Mer zeh des, as is Audi pronounced Ow dee, as is BMW pronounced Bay Em Vay, as is VW pronounced Fow Vay (Volksvagen), as is Arnold pronounced Awnod. Enough of das German lessons fur today. Now gettin in das Porsch eh und nicht fahren like das girlie girl on der Autobahn.
