Default GTA Used Car Dealer: World Fine Cars

Hi Everyone,

I am finally close (after 14 years of dreaming) getting close to my first Porsche. I am looking at a 2003 or 2004 C2. I am most likely going to go the dealer route for a CPO car, but have run across and visited World Fine Cars in Etobicoke.

Anyone had an experience there? Or is it a waste of time for used car dealers in general?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

have you looked on the U.S. side? Lots of cars available and the prices are very attractive. I recently imported a 2007 C4S with no problems

If you plan on keeping the car buy a local one. Better resale value.

not totally true...that's a scare tactic perpetuated by the CDN dealers. If you save 20K buying a similar car from the US, you won't lose 20K more when you go to sell it. Condition, full records and no accidents will play a much bigger part in the resale value than whether it landed first in the US or CDN after being born in Germany.

Regardless of what you decide, I strongly recommend a PPI by a reputable independent Porsche specialist before you pull the trigger, just to ensure that your 14 year dream does not become your worst nightmare.

Default World Fine Cars

A lawyer has advised me to not express an opinion.

But my Publicist say that I can say" My experience with purchasing a car from WFC was unsatisfactory"

I also got my car in the US. Saved a bundle, but it is not the vintage you are looking for.

Thanks for the advice folks. I am looking at some US vehicles as well now - definitely more selection south of the border.

I will let you know how it goes.

what a scummy move. right there shows you what kind of dealer they are. that is the beauty of rennlist you can see what companies are reputable. clearly these guys are not!
reminds me of the saying "screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me"
well you have been warned from a member who got taken advantage of. my advice is to not walk but run away, if they did this once they will do crap like this again.

"They are no different than any used car dealer. Caveat emptor. "
well said. I am sure there are some reputable used dealers out there only they are few and far between. I remember the last car I bought from a used car dealer and I had to stop myself a few times from walking away from the deal over silly things but I didn't have time nor were other similar cars available at the time so I just tried to get out of there as quickly as I could.
