I am looking to have the daytime running lights activated on a 996 that I am trying to import. Any advice on any independent shops that don't charge big $$$ would be great. I appreciate any advice.

I believe it depends on the year, but I think you can buy a software kit with cable and do it yourself. Then you'll have the kit for trouble codes, etc.
Or just call around to Metric Auto Service, Autoimport, Tapp Auto, Chris Kirby and ask for a price.

You cannot active DRL's on a 996 by computer.
