Shift into Spring Slideshow
There were very few vendors there. Tire Works who are traditionally there were not as they have closed their retail operation. Lots of cars for sale in the coral so that was nice to see. Couple of sweet GTS RSs. Pfaff didn't have their show room open, which I thought was a lost opportunity.
Other than that not much else there, although there was a good turn out ... but no street meat vendor

My wife did her best to support the club by spending too much time in the goodie store and subsequent cash register.
I picked up a new hat and t-shirt plus some wheel wax.
The price of the TT tubi exhaust on display at Pfaff Tuning left me speechless!

I brought cash too, expecting to maybe find a vendor that can sell me a single head gasket for my 928 (have every other gasket to finish the project). No such luck.
Picking up on the "Hershey North" idea that PongoBaz and I kicked around at the SIS gathering (at least I think it was PB I mentioned this too) I think we should ABSOLUTELY do this.
The drive organized by Jim944 was a total hit and much more down-to-earth than SIS. IN that style, can you imagine a swap/sale where you could get tires less than 18 inch in diameter! Wahoo!
I'm up for helping organize this for later in the summer.
Challenges include:
Location: Need parking and spots for "stalls" etc
Date: Needs to be a date with high odds of strong attendence
Format: Can anyone with Hershey experience (you know who you are!) comment on it's effectiveness and suitability for our purposes? It seems people want to be able to BUY stuff on site.
I would suggest a mix of vendors (the regular retailers/parts shops) PLUS mini-stalls where you could sell the stuff you want to get rid of.
Promotion: I think one of the keys will be to get a sense of what sorts of bits will be there BEFORE the day - so we can promote this on the website we'll set up. This broadens the appeal and gives people a sense of what to expect.
Let's start out small - but if it works - it could grow into something quiet fun.
Who's joining me on the organizing committee?

Great shots, the one with my shirt was great...I thought you just wanted a pic of my man ****! JK.... One thing that was just terible..there was NO hot dog stand...could'nt even get something to drink, what was up with that?
Very disappointed this year. When I arrived around 11 I couldn't get a parking spot anywhere and thought what a great turnout. People will not stick around if there are not many vendors, no food or drinks to be found anywhere. I really don't think Pfaff cared about the meet because they didn't open the showroom or bother to wash the cars off that were outside. Nice...
I agree totally with everyone's comments regarding this past "Shift into Spring" weekend. I think one or two concession stands around the area would of made it more enjoyable for all those there for a few hours. Then around lunch time pizza was ordered for ONLY those who helped volunteer. I agree with feeding the helping hands, but what about the several guys like myself spending $$$ on UCR and PORSCHE apparel. They could of ordered several more party pizzas and sold them for $2 a slice and everyone would of been happy!
Anyways great P-car turn out!!
BTW nice shots Eshel !!!

^^^ You mean the pizza was not for everyone.....LMAO... My father took a slice (I thought he paid for it) and split it between the two little ones that came with us. I thoght he paid for them or that maybe it was for the attandees. LMAO I don't think he has any idea that the pizza was for the volonteers! LMAO
Screw that. It's pretty damned rude to be eating pizza in front of everyone else when no food is available. If they had the thought to get pizza for the staff they should have also had the thought to have food available for everyone else.
This was my first Pfaff/UCR experience.

When did Italians start having cravings for Hot Dogs?

We ended up at Ice cream Patio with the Shemmers, food was great.
